Location: Barolo (Cuneo). The vineyard is the very best for the grape variety and is set right on top of the Boschetti hill overlooking the town.
Position: 400 m above sea level, enjoying south-south westerly exposure.
Soil: blue marl and yellow sand.
Grape variety: Nebbiolo, with vines over 10 years old. Manual harvesting with meticulous selection of the bunches.
Pruning: Guyot.
Density: 4,400 vines per hectare.
Vinification: soft crushing with stemming, temperature controlled fermentation with 9-10 maceration on skins; ageing in French oak
casks and barrels; 18 month bottle ageing.
Colour: bright garnet red.
Bouquet: ethereal, intense, with scents of ripe fruit and notes of roses and blackberries.
Flavour: structured, opulent with a spicy, mineral aftertaste.
Serving: serve at a temperature of 20°C, opening the bottle a few hours before pouring into balloon glasses.
Accompaniments: excellent meat dishes, roasts, game and dishes served with truffle.
